Our Story
North End Organic Nursery officially opened its doors in March 2010 in the former location of Hillside Nursery in Boise’s North End.
Founder Lindsay Boughey recognized a growing need for organic gardening supplies and resources in the Treasure Valley. Working alongside a local landscaping company, she built a garden center focused on carefully selected plants and products proven to perform well in our region.
The early years were built on listening. Customers shared what they wanted to grow, the challenges they faced, and the products they wished were available locally. North End Organic Nursery responded by expanding its selection of plants, organic supplies, and educational resources to help gardeners succeed.
In 2015, the nursery outgrew its original location and moved to Garden City on Chinden Boulevard. The larger space allowed the business to expand its plant selection, houseplant department, organic gardening supplies, educational offerings, and coffee shop while becoming more accessible to gardeners throughout the Treasure Valley.
The nursery found its new home in the former location of the iconic Costume Shop. At the time, Garden City was anything but a garden, but the team embraced the opportunity to help bring more greenery, gardening, and community to the area.

North End Organic Nursery is Idaho’s only all-organic garden center.
Today, North End Organic Nursery serves gardeners throughout the Treasure Valley with carefully selected plants, organic supplies, and educational resources designed for local growing conditions.
We grow more than 400 varieties of certified organic herbs and vegetables on-site and carry a large selection of edible trees, shrubs, berries, herbs, and garden vegetables to help gardeners create productive landscapes and backyard food forests.
